The Mia Stihl Kindertagesstätte in Waiblingen is a reinforced concrete structure spanning two upper floors beneath a reinforced concrete saddle roof. At 1,500 m² GFA, the building is compact, but the construction system is not simple: a concrete roof geometry that pitches rather than sits flat, combined with a composite façade construction, means the LP5 reinforcement planning has to resolve geometry and load path simultaneously — concrete saddle roofs carry their own bending and thrust patterns that a flat slab does not.
